Turn chaos into a system.

I help fintechs and platforms turn fragmented fraud controls into a clear, scalable system - linking product, support, risk, and compliance.
So you keep fraud losses predictable, approvals healthy, and cost under control as you grow.

Learn what fraud management really means - and how a clear strategy blueprint can turn ad hoc fixes into a sustainable defence

Fraud Management

Fraud management is not just about catching fraudsters or tuning models. It’s about building an end-to-end, governable system that protects business value across the entire customer lifecycle - from onboarding to retention.

Effective fraud management is

  • A technical foundation - ML models, decision engines, feedback flows, device intelligence

  • An organizational capability - ownership, roles, escalation, review and investigation processes

  • A measurable control layer - metrics that track system health, review load, feedback coverage, model stability, and alerts to drum up attention when something is going wrong way

  • A strategic bridge - aligning product, risk, support, and monetization under a unified fraud function, reporting

My work creates the conditions for:

  • Smarter resource allocation and improved risk-cost balance

  • Clearer roles and processes for fraud decisioning and escalation

  • Sustainable model performance through structured feedback and oversight

  • Long-term scalability of fraud operations across products, markets and teams

Fraud Strategy Blueprint

How It Works - 5 stages

0 - Initial Scoping Call
We start with a free intro call to clarify your goals, agree on the exact scope, and outline the deliverables that matter most for your stage and risk profile.

1 - Discovery & Mapping

We start with a structured deep-dive: identify stakeholders, critical fraud-related processes, automated controls, and the systems that support them - from risk and analytics to support and customer touchpoints.

3 - Gap & Vulnerability Analysis

We uncover weaknesses, blind spots, and hidden growth opportunities - clarifying what risks they create, how they connect across teams, and where your current layers of defense and feedback loops fall short.

4 - Actionable Roadmap

You get a clear, practical plan with two layers: quick wins you can launch immediately, plus strategic recommendations broken down into 3 , 6 , and 12 month priorities  - with clear owners, effort levels, impact, and steps to build healthy metrics dashboards, escalation playbooks, and alert flows.

5 - Optional Implementation Support

If you need, I stay with you to help choose the right vendors, refine your controls, and guide your team as you implement layered defenses, build new review flows, and embed antifraud into your customer journey - end-to-end.

A complete fraud control plan: audit, ownership model, clear roles and processes - so fraud stays managed, even as you grow.

Is this for you?

This is especially valuable if you are:

  • A growing fintech, marketplace, or platform business, expanding users, countries, or complexity, and seeing rising fraud risks

  • A product, risk, or compliance leader, needing to align fraud with UX, internal controls, or regulatory pressure

  • A company going through growth, change, or post-incident stabilization

You might be facing situations like:

  • Surge in ATO, APP fraud, payment fraud bonus abuse, or account selling/sharing

  • Manual review workload keeps growing, so do losses

  • ML models are in place, but there's no ownership, retraining, or its evolution

  • No clear view of fraud across product, support, risk, and cyber security

  • Hard to measure fraud impact or ROI on antifraud efforts

  • Fraud tasks are split across teams - with no single owner

  • You're scaling fast and need to stay in control

You're asking questions like:

  • Why can't we keep losses within preset boundaries?

  • Are we spending too much on fraud — or not enough?

  • How can we protect growth without hurting conversion or legitimate customers?

  • Do we even know what fraud is costing us?

  • What would a world-class fraud function look like in our context?

  • Why ML team can't keep control over events?

Your situation is unique and you need a bespoke service?

My name is Dmitrii Emelianov

I spent 10+ years building real fraud prevention systems for fintechs and payment platforms - not just rules, but full frameworks, including internal risks.

Early on, I helped design Jet Detective, an enterprise fraud detection platform. I led vendor selection for customers, designed the business processes around implementation, managed integrations, and owned budgets.

Later at Yandex, I led antifraud strategy across high-volume products with $12B+ annual revenue, built in-house engines, and aligned fraud controls with the customer journey - keeping fraud and chargebacks within risk appetite while the business scaled.

Over dozens of real-world fraud projects, I’ve seen that no two setups are ever the same - every one has its own blind spots and scaling risks. That’s why I don’t sell tools - I build your fraud foundation.

I work with fintech founders and risk teams to design fraud architecture, ownership models, KPIs, and roadmaps that scale - so you can fight fraud, protect trust, and grow without blocking good customers.
